Over the Easter period 2022, EOM asked the school children of Newtown if they would like to participate in a Charity competition to help raise much needed funds for our local Wales Air Ambulance, this involved colouring in an Easter themed page.

At a presentation at the Welsh Air Ambulance base meeting with community fund raiser Dougie, and the helicopter crew; Doctor James and Pilot Valentino shared their experiences and explained how Covid19 has had a detrimental effect on their fund raising, losing out on over £3million in funds over the last 2 years. They went on to explain how each call out of the air ambulance costs approximately £1500 – £2000 per hour and that any donation no matter how small helps to keep them in the air.

We decided we would like to help raise as much needed funds as possible. And so we did an Easter competition for the children of Newtown, this being a colouring competition, with the winners receiving an Easter Egg Hamper.

The entries we received were fantastic and very difficult to judge.
After much deliberation we have our 3 winners, each winning an Easter Egg Hamper.
    The winners were:
🌟 Esmee Harlock, Aged 5, Maesyrhandir Primary School
🌟 Nadia Skwara, Aged 8, St. Mary’s Catholic Primary School
🌟 Tanjia Ahmed, Aged 10, Penygloddfa C.P. School
We would like to say a massive thank you to all those who participated and also a thank you to Ysgol Calon y Dderwen for their kind donation.
Total raised by the children was £105 for the charity.
