Work Experience student helps reduce Carbon footprint in local housing.

EOM are working with Newtown High school’s work experience student Braedon Barrett in reducing the carbon footprint in a series of Barcud housing association’s properties in Welshpool. Braedon is assisting EOM’s electrical engineers in replacing existing inefficient heating and hot water systems with a combination of high efficiency storage and electrical heaters with instantaneous water heaters in residential properties in Belle Vue Welshpool. EOM electrical engineer Robert Meade-Jones said, “It’s great to see a young person so keen to make a difference and be involved with the project, this will allow the properties to achieve the Welsh governments ambitious energy targets”. Braedon said “It’s good to feel involved and be hands on, I’m gaining really good practical experience in a potential career path”.
